At MAD Books we provide high quality literacy- enrichment programming and professional services for community based organizations who value literacy, youth voice, and community engagement.

  • Our Interactive author visits bring stories to life and inspire a love of reading. Students engage in live read-alouds, discussions about the writing process, and age-appropriate creative activities that increase their love of reading!

  • Imagine a collection of professionally illustrated children’s picture books, written by youth in your organization!

    Our newly-developed Characters That C.A.N series is a 12-week “advocacy- through- storytelling” course that puts your students in the creative driving seat of their of their very own published children’s book. Writers develop characters, write compelling manuscripts, and collaborate with professional children’s book illustrators who serve as mentors tasked with bringing their stories to life!

  • We support afterschool providers in increasing the knowledge and effectiveness of their youth practitioners. From increasing reading engagement amongst underserved youth to creating positive reading experiences for exceptional learners, your staff will walk away with the tools to improve your programs impact.
